Serenity's Dream

A sailing dream that tacks across the tabletop

$50–$100 Budget guide

This wooden yacht kit uses a spring motor to zigzag across a flat surface, recreating the pattern of tacking. Paper sails furl around their supports, while rigging and engraved decking complete the boat. It suits a sailor who enjoys building and demonstrating miniature nautical mechanisms.
